Logistics and Distribution Manager

About the role:


Kotn is looking for an organized and entrepreneurial Logistics and Distribution Manager to develop a best-in-class operation. You will manage and oversee our North American 3PL and shipping partners and will focus your efforts on the strategy, execution, and reporting of this side of our business. Our ideal candidate has deep experience in logistics and warehousing, can easily manage multiple timelines and relationships, and is highly analytical. Our company is experiencing rapid growth and we will look to you to scale one of our most critical functions.

This position is full-time and based in Toronto.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Oversee the operations of our 3PL including inbound, outbound, reverse logistics, and inventory control, making regular visits to our facilities
  • Lead warehousing strategy, evaluating all 3PL options
  • Manage all warehouse, shipping and operational costs with the goal of understanding and managing key cost drivers
  • Manage relationships with existing shipping vendors, and research and foster relationships with new providers to establish a comprehensive shipping network
  • Negotiate rates with various shipping and fulfillment partners, ensuring a cost and time efficient and optimized fulfillment and delivery process
  • Work cross-functionally with Product, Wholesale, Retail, and Brand teams
  • Manage cross-border logistics and the relationship with our customs broker(s).
  • Develop scalable processes across the fulfillment team to support our growing business in retail, e-commerce and wholesale
  • Proactively identify and lead process improvement initiatives
  • Develop and maintain appropriate weekly and monthly, executive level reporting on all operations, logistics and distribution functions
  • Other operational needs as they arise

Experience you’ll need:

  • 5+ years of experience in a warehousing, logistics, distribution and operations environment
  • Experience leading a team and in leading large-scale process improvement
  • Experience with Lean, Kaizen, and Six Sigma processes
  • Highly analytical and ability to interpret big data
  • Self-starter, efficient, organized and able to produce high quality work under pressure and in a timely fashion
  • Advanced competency in Excel with best-in-class modelling skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
