In 2017, we built an elementary school in Egypt for the children of our farmers, and others in their community—since then, we’ve built 10 more. FINANCIAL REPORTING & DATA INTEGRITY (50%)

Work closely with team members to assist with the month-end close

Assist in reconciling account transactions with the general ledger

Support in strengthening and optimizing business processes as they relate to the finance function

Calculate the landed costs for the inbound shipments and management of inventory through our inventory management system

Compare system reports to source data to verify entries

Collaborate with internal departments to gather, analyze, and interpret relevant financial data

Perform day-to-day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data

Support the AP function from an invoice processing and review perspective

Kotn is looking for a highly analytical, detail-oriented and intellectually curious Operations Coordinator to join our Supply Chain team. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment and can multi-task, prioritize effectively, and roll up their sleeves to get the job done. This team member will play a critical role in coordinating, analyzing and reporting on the company’s duty drawbacks, inventory and logistics as we strive toward best-in-class supply chain and working capital management.

Audit supplier commercial paperwork for compliance

Assist freight forwarders and customs brokers with import/export issues related to all shipments

Audit import/export to ensure accuracy of data and eligibility for duty drawback

Assist with creation and maintenance of a Duty Drawback Program to reconcile paperwork and retrieve duty paid on eligible imports

Maintain proper documentation management and file/record-keeping systems to ensure all records are accurate and easily accessible

Coordinate inbound inventory receiving with 3PLs

Maintain the company database of stock keeping units and manage it in all platforms

Work closely with all stakeholders to ensure policies and guidelines are respected throughout the workflow processes

Provide necessary support and resources to departmental and cross-functional staff

Create, improve and maintain an organized system

Follow up with internal and external stakeholders daily to identify and resolve the various issues identified

Kotn is seeking a driven, passionate and talented Design Assistant to support the Design team in all aspects of product design & development. The right candidate will thrive in a fast-paced product focused environment and will be open to wearing multiple hats, shifting between creative and administrative tasks supporting the Design team in all aspects of product creation. To be effective in this role, the right candidate will have a vibrant taste level and ethos that truly reflect the Kotn brand. This position is hands-on and will require being in an office/studio environment 4 to 5 days per week.

Technical Pack Creation in our PLM system - creating style numbers, product descriptions, fit development stage, fabric and trim.

Illustrator Sketching – proportional, accurate and clear technical sketches, showing detailed knowledge of construction and garment design knowledge. Speed in technical sketching an asset.

Ensure product components and libraries are organized and up to date on the PLM system.

Participate in the completion of Bill of Materials in the Technical Pack as directed by Apparel Designer. Ensure accuracy and relevant updates as needed.

Design Team Support - Record and Sample Maintenance (25%)

Organize samples, trims, lab dips and prototypes for approval as requested.

Responsible for record maintenance and filing for all styles, as required by the Apparel Designer.

Support in Internal Presentation preparations, including sample tagging, organization, steaming etc.

Design Assistant 

The Design Director at Kotn leads a team of Designers and Technical Designers to create and execute sustainable high quality garments and home products staying true to our brand. The ideal candidate is someone who understands our customer, lives our brand ethos, has excellent leadership with a high taste level and attention to detail and quality. They chase their curiosities to build what’s next to shape culture, while aggressively pursuing new materials, ideas that continually excite the Kotn consumer.

Seasonal Trend, Fabric, Colour and Key Item Direction and Collection Merchandising

Responsible for creating Kotn’s Seasonal Trend, Colour and Key Item Direction for the Company and Design team. Including but not limited to: Theme/Mood Boards, Seasonal fabric boards, Key Item Blow Outs, Market Competitive Research, Sample Selection.

Collaborates with the SVP of Product and Merchandising to build the seasonal direction and key items and hold this vision of a cohesive assortment for your team throughout the execution of final products.

Present design concepts that effectively communicate seasonal direction to cross functional partners – CEO, SVP, Merchandising, Marketing and Sales channels.

Awareness of how the line is currently performing in stores – frequent store visits, lead design meetings, partner with sales channels for customer feedback to inform future season product improvement.

Responsible for creating line cads, coloring the line and merchandising the collection with guidance and direction from the SVP and Executive leadership.

You are responsible for your team’s execution of Kotn’s Product Vision. Ensuring there is a thoughtful Kotn POV weaving a thread through every style.

Provide clear, consistent and inspiring direction on silhouette, fabric, trim, and trend so your designers may design freely into the seasonal vision.

Lead design efforts and utilize design skills to create original, style-led designs that accurately reflect the brand ethos across apparel categories.

Responsible for the clear communication of product information so accurate technical sketches, color legends, prototypes and BOM’s can be created.

Collaborate with Product Development, Sourcing and Production teams on the testing of products and fabrics to meet Kotn sustainability requirements.

Technical Design, Fit and Product Execution

Ability to create and manage the creation of initial tech packs and BOM’s including Technical Design Team management to ensure high quality sampling and production.

Attend fittings for your categories, lead to execute your vision for the item, partnering with Technical team members to perfect fit and consistency for the Kotn Consumer.
