Business Development Representative

Kotn is looking for a driven and entrepreneurial Business Development Representative to join our team! You will be responsible for sourcing, prospecting, and qualifying outbound sales opportunities for Kotn’s custom branded division of the company, Kotn Supply. As an integral member of our sales team and first BDR, you will work closely with an Account Executive to grow Kotn Supply’s new business via outbound sales to achieve our lofty sales goals, and will be a foundational member of our team and contribute heavily to a sales playbook that is in its infancy. This is an opportunity to really leave your mark on a new company with ambitious growth goals!

What you’ll be working on:

Outbound Sales (75%)

  • Research and identify potential clients for sales outreach
  • Develop and test different messaging and pitch material to improve performance
  • Prospect new clients through various marketing and sales mediums
  • Document outbound messaging strategy and buyer personas for Kotn’s sales playbook
  • Scope project details with clients and qualify opportunities for hand-off to AEs
  • Meet regularly with other members of the team to discuss new opportunities and outreach approach
  • Identify and uncover key insights (unique value props, customer use cases, buying triggers, new sectors and areas of business)

Operations (25%)

  • Work cross-functionally with production and supply chain to qualify the validity of client products and programs
  • In some instances, generate estimates and mockups for client projects
  • Keep up to date and organized client information and notes in our CRM daily

Additional Requirements:

  • 1+ years in a customer facing or a sales role, preferably in a fast paced environment. If you don’t have the experience but you have the drive, passion and work ethic, we’d like to hear from you.
  • Alignment with the company’s ethos is considered a requirement for this role. You’re passionate about ethical and sustainable fashion.
  • You’re focused, organized, efficient and can ruthlessly prioritize. You plan for the week ahead, maximize your days and go after it, and don’t let rejections slow you down.
  • Extremely effective communication skills. You love connecting with people verbally and in writing and you have a way of cutting through the noise and capturing people’s attention.
  • Experience in any of the following areas would be considered an asset:
    • Promo-goods, custom wholesale, and/or direct-to-garment printing
    • Apparel or fashion, with exposure to product management and/or supply chain
    • High-growth environment
