Toronto Market Lead/Store Manager

About the role:

As Market Lead you will be responsible for driving our Toronto retail business through excellent operational and team management. You're known as a community builder and go-getter and have extensive experience in shift managing, team motivation, and operations in a retail environment. As the lead at our flagship Toronto store, you will work directly with our head office to manage our Toronto retail team, reporting directly to our Operations Manager.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Ensure Kotn’s brand and mission are being represented at all times
  • Drives daily financial goals
  • Identify learning opportunities, and create development plans for team and business 
  • Drive the business through entrepreneurial leadership and community building 
  • Drive excellence in customer experience
  • Own financial reporting and weekly updates
  • Participate in visual merchandising and coach on store standards
  • Develop and train teams, assist with recruiting to fill positions with highly motivated and exceptional candidates
  • Identify operational opportunities and work with the Operations Manager to build new systems
  • Build community, and help to plan, execute and host in-store events
  • Manage inventory and restocks

Experience you’ll need:

  • 3+ years managing high volume retail with a focus on customer experience and community building 
  • Action oriented, driven for results
  • Natural ability to motivate others and build effective teams
  • Skilled at mediating and negotiating to resolve conflict
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to maintain a positive, fun attitude and boost employee and customer morale
  • Comfortable in a start-up environment
